A blockade of Oxford Street is the best way!

09.09.2002 18:27

This march is going to Hyde Park which is conviently near to Oxford Street. A mass blockade of Oxford Street after the march and rally would really have an impact and force the politicans to sit up and listen to the anti-war movement instead of just dispersing and going our separate ways at the end of the demonstration! How about it?

Direct Action...

10.09.2002 13:33

I am interested to see the possibility of an "Anticapitalist Bloc". My main concern is that the aim of this possibility for real revolutionary activity on the day will be fucked over by trying to "get the politicians to listen to us" bollocks which means that we will be more intrested in media attention and getting "the message across" (i.e. watered down liberal take on the intensification of the war against the Iraqi people, dressed in militant language).

The aim of any revolutionary activity must be to bring trouble to the streets of Britain. To make this fucking regime startled, hopefully shake in their shiny black shoes. The thought of trouble if these bastards launch an intensified genocidal campaign will put the brakes on. If not, the trouble can only intensify and bring this whole rotting order crashing down.

To sit back (or should that be walk around with badges on) while 100,000's die and to call this "resistance" is repugnant.

To attack the economy of this country that harbours mass murderers and calls them liberal politicians is the only moral response.

In my opinion Beware the Credulous

10.09.2002 14:28

In my humble opinion, which is the one that counts, there seems to be very little point in going along with the credulous trades unions and camp-followers (SWP &c); at this very minute Blair is 'persuading' them to drop whatever feeble compost resolution they set down yesterday at their crummy conference.
"Credulous" is the word ! They have to believe in the Labour Leader ultimately, for their bureaucratic jobs depend on him . I suggest (controversially) we should watch for anti-war sentiment from other quarters, in partic. the Countryside march comimg up soon; I cant say in advance, but if THAT lot come out against proposed war, it may change the equation somewhat...
