Manchester No Sweat | 06.09.2002 13:08

This meeting is the first in a series intended to combine organising our work with discussion of issues relevant to the anti-sweatshop movement. We will be deciding on the focus for campaigning over the next few months - all ideas welcome! - and setting up a working group through which you can get involved in planning and organising No Sweat activities.

Manchester Friends' Meeting House:mount st.,behind the central reference library,monday 9th sept, 7.30pm

* What next after the Commonwealth Games campaign? Campaigning priorities for No Sweat in Greater
Manchester.

* Video and discussion on the 2001 anti-capitalist mobilisation in Genoa

* Urgent action to support Indonesian trade unionists against anti-union laws and repression

We will also be showing a video of the 2001 anti-capitalist mobilisation in Genoa and discussing how the
movement can move forward after the Johannesburg Earth Summit.

No Sweat is organising an urgent national campaign to support Indonesian trade unionists who face new
anti-union laws and repression by armed police when they try to protest against the laws or their employers
like Nike and Gap. We will be discussing what we can do locally to support this campaign.
(Detailed background information will be circulated separately.)

Hope to see you on Monday!
