Fuck...etc

The last time I visited the NS website they'd got rid of the readers' discussions that appeared at the end of each article and that anyone could join in. Now today I find that I can't read a single article without subscribing. What the fuck are they playing at? Have they got new owners or something?

Go to the library

If you want to read the NS for free, go to your local public library. If they don't stock it, ask for them to take out a subscription. That's what public libraries are for.

No alternative to the Free Market

This should come as no surprise given this weeks "Show trial: the left in the dock" a commentary by John Lloyd on Amis's new book (KOBA THE DREAD) which describes the complicity of the left towards the Horrors of Stalinism.

Lloyd applaudes the writer Robert Conquest in his book REFLECTIONS OF A RAVAGED COUNTRY specifically for the lines

"motives for self-deception were often a matter of good intentions - a proverbially inadequate guide. Its bearers had turned to socialism as a means of creating a better more humane society.... the ethical argument, if such it can be called, seems to run: 1)there is much injustice under capitalism 2) socialism will end this injustice 3)therefore anything that furthers socialism is to be supported 4)including any amount of injustice."

From here with devastating reasoning he destroys any argument put forward by civil society movements against free markets with this brilliant argument...

"It is the basic, almost comic, syllogism that all western socialist radicals have to confront - not least the anti-globalists, who will get a sense, from Amis's book, of the dead end to which they are inchoatley and ignorantly appealing when they call for an end to free markets."

Now I see the light! Anyone opposed to Bush's new world order deserves everything that genocidal terrorists have coming to them. In fact thank God for Tony Blair who, as Lloyd says "remains untouched by the slime of which Amis reminds us".

We can now march righteously to a continuation of the massacre of the Iraqi population. Thanks again Mr Lloyd, any idea where I can sign up for the Bush/Blair campaign? How do I make sure I'm part of the first wave attack?
