Hon. Alan Greenspan, Chairman
U. S. Federal Reserve Board
20th Street and Constitution Avenue, N. W.
Washington, D. C. 20551
Dear Mr. Chairman:
I noted in this morning's "Washington Post" that you expect to be awarded a knighthood by her Majesty's government in the United Kingdom.
In order to help spare you embarrassment, I call to your attention the provision of Article I, Section 9 of the Constitution of the United States which asserts that, "No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State."
I would urge you to either secure advance Congressional approval for your receipt of this title, or that you respectfully decline.
Thank you for your consideration.
With personal best wishes, I am
Sincerely,
Howard Phillips

How many of us out there want a global war for Sharon, UNOCAL, British Petroleum, Exxon Mobil, and Halliburton Oil? Especially at the cost of thousands, potentially millions of lives, both American and non-American alike?
Aside from the Tower of Babel and the Biblical prophecies pertaining to the Beast, it all began in the context of American history with direct federal income taxation and the creation of the Fed. This was subsequently accompanied by the onset of the Imperial Presidency fronting for the real economic and political powers that be---who also own the American Congress as another personal Toy.
The Maine; the Lusitania; Pearl Harbor; the Bay of Pigs; Dealey Plaza in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963; the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution; and now 911, the Oil and Natural Gas Wars, and a burgeoning Tax and National Security State---all are symptomatic of a great Constitutional experiment gone awry and suggest that the latest machinations at home and abroad have started the ticking of the Clock.
It is almost the strike of midnight. Let Sir Alan be knighted in celebration of a Constitution past. It is twilight for a once great nation now destined to join Nebuchadnezzar's Babylon, Xerxes' Persia, Alexander the Great's Grecian empire, and Domitian's Rome on the ashheap of history.
And it need not have been. . . .
