17 activists, who were arrested after an office occupation in support of Ahmed Menguini, were set free.

Strasbourg, 26.8.
17 people, who were arrested after an office occupation of the ministry of justice in Strasbourg 5 days ago, have been set free. During the last few days, noborder activists all over Europe were worried that they might face 5 years in prison, based on a hilarious accusation to have held three people in the building against their will. I can't figure out, what exactly was going on with these three people since most communication on the case is in French. But the release of the 17 supporters shows that this accusation was just as crazy as the accusations against Ahmed.

The action took place in support of Ahmed Menguini, an activist from Paris and participant of the bordercamp at Strasbourg in July this year. Ahmed was arrested during a demo, held in prison for a months until his trial, in solitary confinement and without the possibility to receive visitors a part from his lawyer. After his trial, he was locked up in the same way. The office occupation took place to demand the right to visits and the end of solitary confinement.
