Sorry made a bit of a blunder in a couple of articles I posted

Mike Lane | 07.08.2002 20:59

International issues are very important so are local and national issues also. At the end of the day they are all interlinked anyway. There are a lot of good people out there doing a lot of good work.

Have not made any friends by putting those recent postings onto Indymedia. In fact I have upset many people in Liverpool and around the country. I have had some angry responses from people who I know and respect. Will have to watch what I put onto Indymedia in the future. I was wrong in the way I wrote those articles, they were too emotive and lacked objectivity. You know what it is like in politics; sometimes you say things and believe what you are saying at the time. Then a couple of weeks down the line you realise you made a blunder in the way you said it.

I have made a blunder. So I would like to apologise to all those people who took offence. I have been rather stressed out lately with what is happening in my own community, which is a designated New Deal for Communities’ area. This initiative is supposed to be community led but it isn’t. The stealth like tricks that the Liverpool City Council and the regeneration administrators play on the community to impose their hidden agendas Know no boundaries. The level of crime, poverty and social exclusion that exists within this community is unbelievable.

Once again I hope the comrades who I have upset will forgive and forget.

All the best Mike Lane

Now, don't do it again.

*Slap* *Punch* *Kick*

Now, don't do it again, fool! Otherwise we'll have to give you wedgies next time. Yes, and Chinese burns!

Or perhaps you should relax, take a deep breath and realise you have nothing to apologise for. Fuck these humourless motherfuckers if they take against you for some little thing you've posted on a message board. Don't hold back, just let rip, let it spit, let it out, let your lid flip.

Talking about crap

Perhaps you could have posted your touching appology on the same page as the postings you are refering too instead of adding yet another none news item to the newswire.

Please would people respect the newswire and stick to posting NEWS.

There is plenty of oportunity to post opinion, comment etc on existing threads without wasting space in the newswire.

You are a fukking idiot!

I am a working-class person living on a dodgy council estate, and to be honest I'd rather spend my time campaigning for the Palestineans and other decent people around the world than for my lumpen drunken, crackhead neighbours.
I actually have a lot less than most of them, having to live on disability benefit.
Every time I've tried to do something on the estate in order so that we ALL can have a better quality of life, noboby else is at all interested.
Fuck them! I'm really fed up of all of you being in total denial of what its really like!
Piss in lifts, durg dealing, anti-social behaviour, etc.
These lumpen scum can all rot in hell for all I care!

Angry and in a state

Solidarity?

08.08.2002 07:22

'Angry and in a state', does that show of solidarity include the council workers presently being betrayed by the unions? or the pensioners living below the poverty line? or the millions of kids that or the millions of miners, dockers and various other workers whose pride was crushed by Thatcher? etc etc etc...

wot it takes

Mike,
What you are doing is great. But slagging off the middle classes, or other parts of the activist movement, is non productive, sure majority of the middle classes are
full of shit, most have had a good education and are totally unaware of what it's like to be poor and under priviledged.
Personally I don't know any (british) working class people with the slighest interest in activism , my brother in law is a racist, my father was a rascist and his father was before him. they all support the queen rule brittania and all that bullshit. I often wonder when I hear the term "class War" who the fuck will be fighting it ?
It seems as though your "group" is basically you ?
I guess it's hard going taking on the the massed ranks of Liverpools parasite scumbags on yer jack

your street creds are fine !

Middle-class

Isn't it better to have a middle-class person who is motivated by socialist values, than one who isn't?

--Mike Lane-- still a dodgy character

08.08.2002 11:11

By their fruit ye shall know them--

"Mike Lane" I still think you are a very suspicious character (and I think a number of the supporting posts above were probably written by you too!). We are watching you.

And bleedin' yawning! Ben's right- this ain't news. It's just another dribble of self-aggrandising pish. Sectarian, pompous, self-dramatising; Mike, what on earth CAN you have in common with Arthur Scargill???

It's a double-edged sword

08.08.2002 20:20

I can understand why you think that people are more interested in helping some far-off Third World country than in helping their own. Both global and local issues are important, but if a person focuses totally on local issues they are accused of not doing enough for the starving millions in Africa, India, etc. Whilst the "global issues" people are accused of being out of touch with the people around them.

Anyway, I admire your stance against the beaurcracy of Liverpool Council, and whilst I don't fully understand what's happening, I do understand that the money isn't going to the people who need it most.

By the way, "Ben" and Jay-B, if you don't like this article than don't read it! This is far more newsworthy than some of the bullshit I've had the misfortune to come across on Indymedia. I would appologise too if I had made such a gaff, would you?

Mick: I spoke to someone who is employed by the regeneration people in Liverpool. I put your points to her and she completely agreed that corruption was endemic within the council bureaucracy!

Dan

Thanks for the advice.

09.08.2002 16:08

Don't really know if I don't like an article till I've read it, eh?

And how dull would life be if you couldn't take the piss out of some of our more pompous comrades now and again?

It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it.
