Come and Arrest Nike
This Friday, Aug 9, at 11am, the fashion police will raid Niketown on suspicion of using sweatshop labour. We expect to have 'em
bang to rights but could do with back up. So get yourself a comedy Police hat and come and join us.
(Opp Oxford Circus Tube)

Punk Benefit Next Sunday
Active Slaughter, Left for Dead and Public Execution are playing at the Swan, Tottenham High Rd on Sun Aug 11, from 6.30 onwards.

Price Waterhouse Coopers
Next Monday, Aug 12, at 11 am again we will be visiting PWC, Number 1 London Bridge. PWC managers have recently cut the
benefits paid to some of their GMB members at the same time as helping themselves to a pay rise. They also advise the Government
on privatisation bids, as well as making up part of the consortia that then bid for and get the PPP contracts. What's more, when
they're not advising bosses on how best to "downsize" their workforce, they monitor codes of conduct for the likes of Nike and Gap -
not very well by the available evidence. Come along dressed in ragged trousers, mucky old grandad shirt, waistcoat and old jacket with
a hanky in the pocket, grubby face and a cloth cap / top hat for a quick rendition of "You've got to pick a
pocket or two".

5 a Side Raises 1,000 Pounds
The No Sweat football tournament raised over 1k for No Sweat and the FNPBI unions in Indonesia.
Over 20 teams, including sides from the GMB, Unison, TSSA and NUJ battled it out in the sunshine at Fulham's Craven Cottage.
Merstham
Magic picked up the coveted bottle of champagne, with Unison Youth getting runners up half a case of beer. A mention also has to go
to Leicester No Sweat who were even worse than the national No Sweat team and managed to let in a whopping 25 goals in four
games!

A report will go out to teams soon and pix will soon be up on the web and available by email for anyone who took part or anyone just
wants a perv at Nick the web guy's lovely legs.

BIG thanks to all who took part and to all at Fulham and Bedfont football clubs!

Manchester Share the Wealth Games
A lively demo and a fundraising night at Manchester Metropolitan University finished a week of activity calling for Sport Without
Sweatshops at the Commonwealth / Share the wealth / Corporate wealth Games.

Armed with foam javelins and cardboard medals for Number One Sweatshop Exploiter and the like we put a slightly different message
to the good people of Manchester than the advertising blurb from Sport England and Manchester Council who conveniently ignored the
conditions of the people who made the shirts and shoes the athletes competed in or the, often appalling, labour records of the games
sponsors.

A full report is up on the website
There is a pic or two to view in the photos section of the downloads now.
