Sort yer eds and give the SWP/MI6/New Labour/Socialist Alliance members a fookin good SLAP!!!!! (in a non-violent sort of way)

The successes of the vast majority of grassroots, anti-war, anti-capatalists/pro democracy actions have the charateristics of being creative, spontaneous and non-hierarchical. NOT every other month, easily ignored by the media, monotonous and down right bullshit. People want to be more hands on and the governmental SWP ("please still vote labour, they're nice really!") actively stifles and contradicts any other movements. HYDE PARK TO TRAFALGAR SQUARE!!!!!!!!! for some lovely speeches from some boring twats and Tony Benn (bless im).

Strolling down the road, waving a wanky propaganda placard
and shouting "Who let the bombs out!" is not very revolutionary, as the creators advertise themselves.

We need proper Direct Action, if the anti-war protest can attract 50,000 bods (or 50 if u belive the mass media), imagine us keeping the Houses of Parliament under seige while in session (even for a couple of hours!) or at the MI5 building. A little harder to ignore and a lot more to inspire.

Truth and NonViolence..................

Mother's Against War

Take it to the bridge, Tower Bridge that is, 50,000 or even 50 bods could bring the City to a standstill, before life stands still in Iraq.

UK UK how many kids have you killed today?

The Anarchists make me laugh so very much...

05.08.2002 15:44

...except that many people will not be up for a rumble with M15 so you won't get as big a demo. I know that you, as an Anarchist, are happy with the player/spectator style demo but the rest of us are not. Of course if you can win the argument at any meeting of the Stop the War Coalition then fair play to you. Ooopps, that would require interaction with non-anarchists and (draw breath) Socialists and (draw even more breath) LABOUR PARTY SUPPORTERS. Not for you eh? You are to 'pure' to mix it with the 'rabble' that vote Labour.
PS Ha ha GREAT stuff in Genoa and Prague. Must have felt goooood having so many spectators to watch you tough gladiators take on the cops. (yawn)

Socialist? No, SWP

05.08.2002 16:07

Maybe it's the same in some other countries, but Britain seems to have an amazing ability to produce 'socialists' who spend most of their time atacking anyone with a bit of spirit who wants to take on capitalism and its war machine.

It's the way he (it'll be a he, no question) says 'the rest of us' as if he can talk on everyone else's behalf. You see a lot of these people talking loudly in kitchens at parties. Of course, while he is a revolutionary he spends his time doing unrevolutionary things so as not to upset Labour supporters - and us mugs thought the government and the police were the enemy. Duh!

These people vote for the government. They prevent discussion of direct action at anti-war meetings they organise. On anti-war demonstrations they argue with people on sit-down protests not to 'disrupt' the march and go and listen to Labour MPs, They directly attack anyone involved in action aimed at denting the efficiency of this Labour government's war machine.

But I'm sorry, I'm just an adolescent egotist, completely lacking your sophistication. Please tell me again, how is it that voting for the government builds revolutionary politics? I clean forgot.

I thought the SWP was part of the Socialist Alliance, and don't they run in elections AGAINST Labour?

Who bloody cares!!

Listen, what's needed is any kind of action so long as it's an attempt to stop the needless and sick bloodshed in Iraq. If people feel able to take direct action, then great, it makes a difference. If people can only participate in a march from Hyde Park to Trafalgar Square, then great, that helps as well. There's no point arguing about who's a socialist or my way's better than your way. The point is that any way is better than sitting on your arse and letting these buggers think that they can go on killing without so much as a whimper from anyone.

I attended the anti-war demos back in November and March and, though possibly not as forthright as an anarchist blockade, someone must have heard what was happening - Blair (and his puppet handlers) knows that he can't bomb Iraq without massive demonstrations. For my sins, I have a wife, 3 kids and a mortgage and as much as I'd like to get involved directly to show those dickheads what I really think of their murderous policies, I can't, I have to take the legal approach. Still, more power to the elbows of people who can blockade 10 Downing Street, block Tower Bridge or, what about a sit down on the main arteries of the city on the day that they decide to go in - a few well placed sit downs on the M1, the A406, the M3...etc. will definitely get noticed.

Good luck to all in whatever approach you decide to take...

Division

05.08.2002 19:21

your all at it again arguing over nothing, resistance with division is no resistance at all ,this is what the world leaders want everybody at each others throats lets just concentrate on coming together and tackling things in terms of priority and get back to fighting for the scraps at the table of lords when the current regime is de-commisioned and no longer a threat to international peace and stability the time for words are over The most important period in the history of mankind has begun if we stick together we might just live long enough to tell the tale if we are divided they will come for us one by one and all resistance quelled i say we bury the idealogical differences hijack the swp manifesto and oust the cia implants currently spouting rhetoric and regulating the information spectrum discussed at their meeting s and resultant demonstrations

the swp numbers are useful even if their agenda is not, remember that all you anarchists out there ,it just needs new leadership, so maybe anarchist insertion into swp movement could bring dividends in the years ahead when their more resistive elements will be a luxury we can not do without

Stick together

peace to all anarchist communist socialist (as long as you are fighting for change i don't care what label you attach to yourself i am neither and all of the above myself)

see u on the frontline!!!

you are all traitors!

06.08.2002 09:42

Mucus and Nuggett, with their bourgeois talk of 'unity' and 'diversity', are clearly MI5/CIA/NWO agents!! Surely no-one will fall for this sell-out concept of a mass anti-war movement? What we need is a tiny but ideologically pure cadre with true revolutionary leadership (me and my mate Tim).

The ruling class clearly want to distract us with this phony 'War on Iraq' issue. I mean, how do we even know this so-called Iraq exists? If you ask me it's all part of the 9/11 conspiracy, all aimed at distracting us from the real task, ie. denouncing each other as traitors.

I denounce you all! Unity is bourgeois! Moan don't march!

Lets use the comments constructively

06.08.2002 12:17

Why is it that everyone responds to these silly posts more than they do serious ones, where a good debate can happen? These comment facilities on this site are great when used for a constructive debate, but when people just slag each other off it is a waste!

annony mouse you dont know shit about me

06.08.2002 19:15

annonymouse you know jack about me sunshine you think i am middle class leftie full of talk
(you are wrong)
try typing my name in the indymedia search box ie Nuggett and check back to articles posted by myself ,

just because i have learnt to articulate myself reasonably well when communicating with people means nothing at all

The truth is i grew up surrounded by poverty in a run down tennement block in a scottish city , i have spent time in prison for crimes commited to support myself when i was without housing or basic human provisions food medicines etc ,
i ran away at ten from an abusive home and slept rolled in a carpet in a lorry park for nearly two weeks was kicked from school at 13 and pretty much left to fend for myself i spent much of my early teenage years living rough and generally struggling to survive so don't tell me about how fucking middle class i am ok.

what i have learned of international affairs and global corruption is self taught and i have not been privvy to any education from the institutions why ? cause i had no fucking money ,i have learned much in the last few years with the selfless intention of bringing about social change for all the peoples of the world i currently write poetry and books to this end.

On top of this i turn out for issues that i feel most strongly about and contribute to discussions regarding a particular issue with the relevant people this does not mean i have ignored issues on the local agenda , far from it and my book "A Citizens Britain" will cover the entire uk state of affairs be it politically, socially environmentally economically or otherwise

However the importance of the international scene at the present time is of such a nature that it is a priority for all concerned with the emerging fascist dictatorship to observe developments and take action where neccessary this is being done behind the scenes just because you cannot see direct action does not mean it is not happening things like hacktivism go on every day and it is this sort of action that may come to avert a global disaster should the need arise

people are concerned about the preservation of earth itself that does not make them greens blues reds fairies goblins or anything else it just means that they give a fuck

the question is DO YOU ??????

Peace

molatov waving placard thrower

06.08.2002 21:41

I love the way we all manage to tag stupid generalisations to each other.
Its brilliant innit.
If your SWP then you’re a middle class guilt ridden wanker who likes waving placards but beyond that you’re scared.
If you’re an anarchist then you’re an inverted class snob with nose piercings whose only real interest is getting pissed and throwing things at coppers.

I agree with the person at the top that occasionally more is needed than placard waving.
But I also agree that the vast majority of normal people don’t want to risk their necks and I don’t blame em.

…So why not do both?
If the “left” is so dynamic, if we all really are up for making a change then why not practisce a bit of solidarity and agree to differ on tactics whilst sticking together on the issue?
Why not two actions instead of one?
Is this movement de-centralised and diverse?
Or is it filled with a bunch of tossers on power trips trying to force their agenda on others?
Stop bickering and practice some solidarity you secterian bastards.
