Double Strawberry Gotchya!

Paul Coleman of the global biotechnology company Biogen, was today pied in the face today with a gateaux, by Agent Sara Lee of the group Manchester Biotic Bakers against Biotech (linked to the renowned Biotic Baking Brigade – see below for website).
Mr Coleman who had given the opening talk at a Biotech Breakfast at the NorthWest Business Club at the CorporateWealth Games, was stunned to find himself wiping the remains of a Sara Lee Double Strawberry Gateaux from his face.
Agent Sara Lee said that having listened to what he had to say, during his presentation at the Bridgewater Hall, it was clear that he and his company are flying in the face of the literal meaning of Common Wealth. They are in the business of profiting from peoples' misery, are engaged in highy unethical and dangerous technology to develop drugs. These drugs are then sold at such elevated prices that poor people in the Third World are left dying while people like
Paul Coleman line their pockets. This pie in the face is on behalf of all those dying from lack of medicines, all those animals who were tortured and died in order that Biogen could make money.
She added “Anyone who can stand up and declare unashamedly that they have £750 million in the bank, while most people in the Commonwealth live in dire poverty , deserves to be wiping the cream off their face.”
Meanwhile, two genetically modified carrots danced in front of a banner which highlights what's really going on behind the scenes at the Commonwealth Games. Meetings such as this Biotech Breakfast, and others in the NorthWest Business Club over the course of the Games are a cynical attempt to expand the corporate takeover of Manchester. While big business is profiteering, local resources are cut, while poor areas of the city are given a paint job and abandoned shops covered over with corporate adverts, the real problems go unsolved and the real needs of the communities in these areas go ignored.

Biotech want a real common wealth – shared among the people who really need it both in Manchester and across all countries of the Commonwealth, rather than lining the pockets of big businesses of the first world and the bureaucrats of Manchester.
