Convoy - Messages to DEFRA
R2R | 31.07.2002 15:25 | Bio-technology | Ecology | Health | Technology | London | Oxford
A nine minute video (in realvideo) of an anti-GM convoy and demonstration at DEFRA. Bags of GM taken from 17 trial sites around the country were dumped on DEFRA's doorstep to make clear that the public do not want GM crops.

Realvideo is commercial shite that is full of adverts and spyware and forces upgrades on you when all you want to do is view a vid. Once a long time ago, the company that owned Realvideo was a really cool bunch of coders supporting free speech and independent grassroots media. Sadly they sold up and now realvideo are a total bunch of wankers.
Anyway, due to popular demand, I have uploaded an MPEG4 version of the DEFRA video. It is 9 minutes long and is about 4.2 mb in size.
If anyone wants a high quality version of this for screenings etc, please contact ToGG 01803 840098

Over the years that real2reel have been posting videos and links to indymedia, technology and bandwidth have improved but websites have come and gone. While indymedia is still here, many of the sites which hosted our videos are long gone and any video you can still get at is usually only very low bandwidth versions which might have been great five years ago but are now rightly considered to be very poor quality in comparison with other videos now available online.
We've started going trawling the net and our own archives to get all those videos online again in as good quality as possible. We've been posting the videos to blip.tv and from there they are also uploaded to youtube, archive.org and other sites.
We've set up a wordpress blog http://real2reel.wordpress.com from which you can pull feeds.
You can also follow our new twitter account to hear about new videos as they are posted.
