I've just read the comment by John Reid where he calls for an assessment of the voilence to shine a light on levels of paramilitary acyivity by both sides. Why are you saying that the focus is just on the IRA?

I'm no expert on what goes on in Northern Ireland, but most of the attention seems to be placed on Republican paramilltaries such as the IRA, "Real" IRA, "Continuntiy" IRA, and INLA. However, despite all you hear about getting these groups to ceasefire and decommission their weapons, you never hear about getting the so-called "loyalists" (UFF, UVF, LVF, etc) to ceasefire of decommission, even though they have also committed henious crimes on much the same scale as the IRA. This is why it doesn't surprise me when the IRA get cold feet whenever the issue is mentions (although there has been progress in the last 12 months).

Final point, did you know that the RUC (or whatever it's called these days), is almost made up entirely of Protestants? And I thought the conflict between Catholics and Protestants had been gone away with after the Spanish Inquisition...

As you say, you are no expert on what goes on in N. Ireland. Maybe if you studied the subject you would have the answers to your questions.
