...that the two petrol bombs allegedly found at the Diaz School during the violent raid by the Carabinieri on the GSF and Indymedia headquarters (and partly used to justify both the raid and brutality) were in fact recovered much earlier in the day (7 hourse before the raid), hidden by the side of the road in central genoa in an area that had seen heavy clashes (see  http://uk.indymedia.org/front.php3?article_id=34463)

The revelations surfaced after the prosecuter leading the enquiry decided to re interview all of the 200+ police officers previously questioned regarding the Diaz raid.

This followed the progression of another enquiry in Naples where a police officer under enquiry confessed that attacks on demonstrators during a protest in Naples on March 8th, which saw people beaten with rifle butts, was a pre-meditated and planned strategy. In the light of this the subsequent re questioning of the police officers focused on the possibilities that similar pre-meditated strategies were in place for Genoa.

Indeed it seems as if the Carabinieri are coming under increasing pressure being accused of being an overtly political police force, acting on behalf of fascist elements of the government and political system in Italy.

Around 15 police officers look likely to be stripped of rank and thrown out before being charged with the initial beatings that occurred at the Diaz raid, although the process is expected to painfully slow and take months if not years. As the recent press conference by those beaten and arrested at the Diaz raid said, "Justice Delayed, is Justice Denied!".
