You are invited to join a carnival and protest called by people in the villages and towns of North Essex, who are campaigning against GM crops planted by the giant global Aventis/Bayer corporation.

Local campaigners argue that the science behind genetic
engineering is still too new and uncertain. So is knowledge about
its long term environmental and health effects. Local people do not want to be subject to an uncontrolled experiment, with genetically modified crops released into their environment. 95% of villagers who voted in a recent Parish Council referendum (40% turnout) voted against the GM crops.

Yet big business, backed by government in their 'genetic goldrush' have ridden roughshod over the will of the people, and Aventis's T25 GM Maize has been planted. Local organic farmers and gardeners have been outraged by this threat to agriculture and wildlife.

People from near and far are invited to come and join the protest! Bring friends and family for a fun day out! For the future of a sustainable environment, agriculture, food and health for all the world's peoples!
