Madness!

Hundreds of people with mental illness could find themselves locked up under the biggest shake-up of mental health services for decades.

Doctors in England and Wales will be given new powers to force people with severe mental illness to receive treatment without their consent under plans unveiled by the government in a draft Mental Health Bill published on Tuesday.

The Bill applies to people with conditions ranging from anorexia to manic depression and dangerous and severe personality disorders, even if they present no danger to themselves or the community.

Under the new plans, people with severe personality disorders could be detained in secure mental hospitals for treatment even if they have not committed a crime. Anyone who does not conform to the governments definition of “sane” may find themselves detained indefinitely, against their will.

The Bill sets out a definition of a single mental disorder which applies to everyone. CBS news stated, if you have felt “down” in the past few weeks, you are probably depressed and need treatment. That’s depressing!

The forced drugging of persons deemed mentally ill will heap lucrative profits on the pharmaceutical industry. Newborn babies may be screened for ‘schizophrenia’ and drugged from birth

The government has drafted these plans because of fears the public had lost confidence in community-based mental health care, (swat teams) which was intended to fail, in order for these Draconian measures to seem necessary.

Remember the fate of mental patients and invalids in Nazi Germany?
