Caqmp X-Ray and the Red Cross

UN | 26.06.2002 17:02

as part of its role the Red Cross is not permitted to make public any of its findings

Remeber Camp X-Ray? Remeber Red Cross whent in to check it out? what happened?

'The Red Cross has been allowed to visit, which is something that we welcome, and hopefully could lead to improvements in conditions. Unfortunately, as part of its role the Red Cross is not permitted to make public any of its findings, so the rest of us still have no idea what's going on at the camp.' - Amnesty International

So the only way the Red Cross got access, was under the strict agreement that there report would be sent to the highest levels of government, and that they would not comment or discuss any of there findings. Only the US gov. could release the details.
Heard anything?
Nope. funny that.

The only piece I could find was on www.defendamerica:

'Saiful-Islam also discussed some concerns brought up since his arrival here during heightened controversy over detainees' rights, an issue that has since dwindled following positive reports from the International Committee of the Red Cross/ Red Crescent and Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld.'

The positive report? Can we see this positive report?
NO

But we can trust them, right?

'In keeping with longstanding Red Cross policy, no reports will be made public on the findings of the four-member team, which includes a doctor, a linguist and two senior ICRC officials.'-Miami Herald

Long standing tradition?????
No, they do not like to discuss reports, as they feel this is to political, but look on there web sight, they release all the reports they can, america specifically told them, they would only be allowed in if they did not publish report.

'The Red Cross committee will submit a report with its findings to the detaining authorities -- in this case the U.S. Southern Command -- as well as to the Pentagon.

The report will not be made public, but Christen said a delegation would return to the camp to check on any improvements to the facility they may have requested'-CNN

Does anyone remember the tainted blood scandal? That gruesome business cost the red cross their blood brokering license in Canada. Turns out they made millions selling donated blood that directly infected hundreds of thousands of people with AIDS, Hep-C and B,(and who knows what else?). The numbers of secondary victims is literally incalcuable.

Or what about the time that the red cross were in hostage negotiations with the West Papau freedom movement, they pulled out of negotiations but before they went public with the story, their helicopter (or one just like it) flew into the same village, as normal, and 6 white blokes got out and put holdalls on the floor. Then they pulled out machine guns from the bags and killed everyone in the village. No one is sure who they were, but both French and South African merc companies were involved with the Indonesian military, so it was probably one of those.
