Environmental protection from GM contamination

Activists protect environment from contamination from GM potato crops between 16 and 17 June respectively for the second time near Berlin.
In the night from the 16. to the 17. of june a deliberate release of gmo-potatoes was destroyed in DAHNSDORF near BERLIN.
This action is the second this year. The crops were permitted on the field of the Biological Federal Authority for Forestry and Agriculure (Biologischen Bundesanstalt für Land- und Forstwirtschaft) were destroyed by anti-ge activists. In March there was an action against oilseed-rape. This time the work of eleven research groups is affected by the action. The research projects were financed since last year by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the program "research on safety". These programs offer no protection and independent scientists who are not being paid by industry are being undermined despite the fact it could potentially introduce irreversible change to wildlife and the environment.
The aim of the research projects was to watch in a real environment a model plant which develops additional to starch fruktans.
