Has one noticed the British Media are becoming more and more pro-Bush/War/Israeli
The British Media more and more are pro-Bush, pro-Sharon, pro-War. Anyone who doesn't think that the Media in the UK will be so fanatical and unquestioning and opinionated as the American Media is since 9/11 Think Again!
We Will all be expected to conform. Prepare for this NOW!
I agree. For example, BBC Radio 4 "Today Program" has recently included several Israeli spokespeople who speak perfect English, very eloquestly, for several minutes, without questionning.
However, Palestinian spokespeople speak less good English, express themselves less well and are subject to questionning by the presenter.
The thing that's really struck me over the last day or so is that Israali civilian victims of terroism now seem to rate higher in the British media than British civilian victims of terrorism. Compare and contrast the reporting of the latest suicide bombing in Israel with the reporting of the suspected ETA bombing in which 3 Britons died. Usually you can count on the British press to report any British casualties as *the* most important issue (and far more important than thousands of dead "johnny foreigners") - but suddenly Britons don't rate as much coverage in Britain as Israelis. Isn't that strange?
Of course, no-one is quite as obscure as dark-skinned victims of massive state terrorism, but that's only to be expected...
If an Israeli is killed it's Headline news, if a Palestinian is killed it's on a lot later on and a lot less details are given. They NEVER interview Palestinians for their side of the story.
I wonder if WE'LL all be called Terrorists or Traitors soon for having a different point of view ?
