Annual ritual of a 24hour general strike led to an organised
occupation by the stalinist KKE of the Greek Economics Ministry. So as to avoid the possiblity of demos getting out of control the stalinists occupied the Economis Ministry for a few hours and then left.
In such a 'dynamic' fashion they have uppoed the stakes against the Simitis government which wants to deregulate all labour conditions,privatise everything and abolish the state pension in line with EU directives.
The stalinist KKE as always claims a great victory has been gained and for internal consumption has now learnt to 'occupy' ministries whereas for years they attacked vehemently any suggestion of this. What they
are now doing is trying to pre-empt an explosion from the left which is inevitable taking into account Greeces status as the poorest member of the EC and its massive youth unemployment.
