They're back and with an even more restrictive gene pool than last time

Below is text taken from their Fisher Price website - the last time this lot marched was with huntsman, the BNP and the International Turd Position going on about keepng the countryside white (i'd have thought green would have been a better choice...)

I've not heard of any groups doing anything yet but the opposition to the last one was pitiful. Check out M'AM and HSA for updates.

Alliance announces massive 'Liberty and Livelihood'
London march is back on

The Countryside Alliance has announced that the Liberty and Livelihood march , which was postponed last year due to the Foot and Mouth epidemic, will now go ahead on September 22nd.

Announcing the title, date and reasons for its massive London march, Alliance Chief Executive Richard Burge said "We have decided to keep the same title and credo as the postponed march because our reasons for staging the original march are regrettably even more apt than a year ago. We said when we postponed the march that we could call again if necessary, and on September 22nd we will.

Although this march will not just be about hunting, the outrage at the prospect of a ban has lit the fuse. This march is about rural liberty and livelihoods. Lest anyone misunderstand its purpose we have set down a five point charter.* Anyone who does not subscribe to all five principles of our march - and these crucially include the right for people to decide for themselves whether they may hunt - will not be welcome on it".

Mr Burge added, "This time our march will be to call upon the Government, rather than upon Parliament, to help rural minorities. Since the postponement of our march last year it has become even clearer that most MPs are intent on doing things to the countryside rather than for it. Now only Government action, based on commonsense, statesmanship and a willingness to lead its backbenchers away from prejudice and divisiveness, can resolve this looming crisis".

Theme for the Campaign: Title for the March:
"Liberty and Livelihood" The "Liberty and Livelihood March"

March and Campaign Mission (credo)

"We demand that Government:

Defends the right of rural people to live their lives responsibly in the way they choose
Safeguards rural people from prejudiced attacks on hunting with dogs and all other field sports
Respects the values and customs of rural communities
Ensures any laws directed at rural people have their consent
Addresses the real problems of the countryside which are destroying its communities, its culture, and its children's future"

Judicial enquiry-March & Rally

JUDICIAL INQUIRY AND DIARIES OF DESPAIR RALLY AND MARCH.

Latest update on anti-vivisection rally and march with speakers, to demand for an immediate public and legal-binding Judicial Inquiry into vivisection to be held on Saturday 20th July, HAS NOW CHANGED DATE

The date has been changed to Saturday 21st September. The new date will coincide with the Diaries of Despair rally (being organised with Uncaged - details below) to highlight both causes with as maximum effective impact and
public pressure as possible.

Considering we originally managed to mobilise so many people in such a short space of time, for the intended date originally, what can we manage given more time ? Please put this date into your diary and we'll see you there.
Keep spreading the word and let's make this massive, speak to everyone you know.

DIARIES OF DESPAIR RALLY
Saturday September 21st 2002
For our second annual rally we plan to hold a march in London and present our petition for which we will have been collecting signatures for over a year. We have also established an EDM in relation to the Diaries of Despair
case, and it would be great if you could write to your MP asking him or her to sign EDM 516. See also www.xenodiaries.org.

Why dont you make a weekend of it and join the demo against the countryside alliance ! ! !
