Protesters gave Salford Council a whole load of rubbish this morning... literally!

The Socialist Alliance organised and undertook the protest to make a point about the rubbish which has been piling up and neglected by Salford City Council in one of Salford's poorest and neglected areas, Langworthy.

Despite intimidation from the council, the 'dirty' protest got much media attention, with reporters from BBC North West, Manchester Evening News and Salford Advertiser. Many passers-by and residents congratulated Alliance members when they cleared up the rubbish.
