Home Secretary David Blunkett has decided that passengers injured in rail crashes and workers hurt in industrial accidents will not be treated as victims of crime in the same way as all other victims of crime.

This will lead to thousands of passengers and workers whose injuries are caused by criminal failings by companies being denied the right to present a victim
statement to the court.

It's a politician's job

Sue the government instead then, it is their job to implement policies that improve the quality of life and safety standards in public services, but Alistair Darling had the audacity to blame our Victorian forefathers who built the railways for their failures. Tories and Labour have had a hundred years to get it right and that means ministers are culpable.
