Council workers (members of UNISON) will be on strike on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th June in support of their London Weighting pay claim. This follows a successful one day strike in May. As a result of the planned two day strike the employers have agreed to negotiate, but the talks are scheduled for 13th June – clearly the bosses want to know how many workers support the strike call. To show solidarity get along to you local council offices on either day and join the picket lines between 7.30 and 9.30am. If you have to ring or go into the Council on these days, remember the person you speak to is probably a scab. There may be a rally on 13th – I will post details if so.
