12,000 campaigners from NGO's, church organisations and student groups ringed parliament on wednesday 19th June as their queue to lobby their MPs on Fair Trade issues stretched across the river. Throughout the day people spoke to over 300 MPs and a special FM radio station relayed news and interviews. The event comes just two days after the UN released a report rejecting claims that globalisation is good for the poor. The UN report argues that the international trade and economic system is part of the problem, not the solution.
