Defeating racism

Unite | 29.05.2002 12:17

Beating racism forum at the Bullion Rooms, Behind Hackney Town Hall, Mare Street, London E8, on Tuesday 11 June 7.30pm

With Doreen Lawrence, Diane Abbott, MP, Roger McKenzie, TUC race equality officer, Steve Edwards, TGWU, Glenroy Watson, Black Workers for Justice, and John Page, Hackney Unison

Dear supporter, please note the public forum on institutional racism is less than two weeks away. We have done incredibly well at publicising this through email's, newsrooms, and websites. Many thanks to the Lib dems ethnic minority forum, to Black net, premier and to indimedia, for posting us on their sites. Many thanks also to the south east region TUC for circulating details of the event.

This is all excellent, however there are as yet very few posters up in shop windows around the borough. We have some excellent speakers at the forum. However it will only be a success if we get 250 people to attend and begin the process of formulating a strategic community response to institutional racism. This will only happen if posters are placed in shop windows, cafes and bars.

Can you print off even half a dozen copies of the poster and get them up in suitable sites near where you live.

A country cottage AND a flat in London? I thought you BNP Nazis were trying to present yourselves as ordinary working-class blokes. Oops!

Oh, and your obvious distaste for black people even when they've done nowt wrong is a bit 'off message' too. Mr Griffin won't be pleased!

Wow Gary, how ingenious of you! I can now see how the NF have become so powerful in this country. I'm sure that Philipp must be in fear of his life now. I must say that your incontestable arguments have persuaded me and I am sure everyone else who reads this. Well done genious.
