An inquiry into the murder of Carlo Giulani an italian antiglobalisation activist has got underway today. Dozens of Carabinieri (italian police) are expected to get a 'ticking off' for their actions during the protests of the G8 meeting in Genoa.

The extreme right meanwhile is becoming bolder by the day in terms of visibility, their marches and gatherings receive full support and protection by the italian Police forces.
It is a well known fact in Italy that the vast majority of Police and Carabinieri identity themselves in fascistic values such as nationalism, strict discipline, and obeyance to authority.
What goes on in Italy is very worrying indeed.
