WRITING WWW.INDYMEDIA.ORG.UK ON FIVE POUND NOTES

someone | 20.05.2002 22:01

I've posted this b4 but I thought I'd do it again.

Is it illegal to do write on money?

I was just thinking that writing "www.indymedia.org.uk" on notes would be a good way of spreading the word about the website.

Also, I've seen some flyposters up in town that say "www.indymedia.org.uk".

swell idea

Like lots of other good things in this world it's probably illegal. But if no one sees you do it how will they know it was you! Personally I think it is a swell idea.

You could even write political leaflets on the notes. I'm sure you'd get a lot more people taking them! Don't know if they'd read 'em tho!

Do It

I do things like that on money all the time. It really is a good way to spread the word. If it is illegal then who cares you know? How would they trace it back to you anyway? Also if someone questions it (say in a shop) then you just say it was on there when you were given it in another shop. Easy peasy. If everyone who reads this does it then just think how much free 'publicity' that is!

I remember watching Superman III when I was 7 and Clarke Kent gets the piss taken out of him for saying "swell" because apparantly no one said that word anymore.

That was back in the 80s
