This is a crucial time for the resistance movement. The destruction in the wake of the Zionist re-occupation of West Bank cities is vast: municipal buildings, hospitals, churches, mosques, universities, media outlets, sewerage and water systems, homes and farmland have been attacked and substantially destroyed; hundreds of civilians and resistance fighters have been killed, and thousands more injured; over 6000 people have been arrested, most of whom are still imprisoned. The effect of this toll on the resistance movement cannot be ignored. But what will the effect be?

The PA and Arafat are calling for “reforms” and new elections. Will this be the reforms of a corrupt Palestinian Authority which Palestinians have wanted for years? Or are these the “reforms” longed for by the United States and the Zionists, to create a quisling government with which to “negotiate”? What role will the six political prisoners, convicted by the PA in a kangaroo court and held by US and British forces, play in the future of the Intifada?

The solidarity movement in Britain is finally starting to build. But will it disappear as it has in the past? What can we do to build a serious, long-term anti-imperialist movement in this country?

Join us in discussing these essential issues. Join us in building a committed, anti-imperialist solidarity movement in Britain.
