why was the Royal Marines operation in Afghanistan called Operation Snipe. Isnt a snipe hunt something americans do on summercamps, and is a rite of passage type thing.

I thought that to participate in a "snipe hunt" was to participate in a pointless, preyless charade. I found this link on the subject.
