Today activists attempted to occupy the Israeli Embassy in London. This was in protest at the continued occupation of parts of Palistine by Israel. Protesters were pulled off the fence by Police and embassey staff.
Very well done, we need actions like these, but how can we get involved? I am aware that numbers count to a certain extent and that by publicising actions such as these same could be minimised by police.
Yes, if actions such as these were advertised in advance or even talked about over phones, then the police would prevent them happening.
How to get involved then?
Depends where you are in Britain as to whether there's a group in your region who you could get involved with, and what they are like - the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign for example probably have a group near you, but are likely not direct action-focussed.
The best way to get involved is to get together with people you know, and think up an action yourself. That's how pretty much everyone starts. Research tips from Corporate Watch UK. Go reccie your target (have a look). Action tips from your nearest Earth First! group or similar bunch of direct action folks. Activists Legal Project for legal rights and what happens if you get arrested. Search the internet for resources, and if you don't get anywhere, or have more specific queries, try the Blatant Incitement Project (which provides support) at the following email address (formatted with @s & .s) doinitATnematodeDOTfreeserveDOTcoDOTuk
Once you've done it, post it up on Indymedia for all to get inspired. Good luck
At around 3pm a group of activists managed to enter the office block housing the Israeli Tourism Information office and the office of El-aal, the Israeli airline which has been deporting arrested international activists. The word "TERRORISTS" was alledgedly sprayed on their walls.
