Around 500 people held an anti-racism demo against Blunkett's new Asylum and Immigration Bill in Trafalgar Sq on Sunday (12th).

Around 500 people turned up for an anti-racism demo in Trafalgar Square on Sunday 12th.

The main theme of the demo was to protest against David Blunkett's new Asylum and Immigration Bill, a Bill which is bad news for asylum seekers.

Many speakers were present for the two hour rally, including the General Director of the Refugee Council, the General Director of the TUC, Ken Livingstone, Diane Abbot MP and many more.

The rally was to be followed by a march and human chain around parliament, but these were stopped by torrential rain near the end of the demo.

Thanks to all who attended - hopefully there'll be an even bigger turnout next time.
