Sorry to be so picky - just have this resentment towards this conception that violence towards women is somehow worse than when the same violence is applied to men.

This kind of state brutality is abhorrent wherever it happens and to whoever it happens to. I don't believe there should be any distinction as to whether this violence is perpetrated towards men or women.

I neither feel that any of the violence I have received from cops has been worse than that received by my male counterparts, nor do I believe the effects have been any more adverse.

Whilst I realise that this may not be true for all women, I still believe that these are the kind of gender stereotypes that we should really be trying to break down.

This footage makes horrible watching. It reminds me of a scene from the Indymedia video of the horrific police violence in Genoa last year.

Here it's a different country but the same scene, people on the floor against a wall surrounded by cops all swinging their batons giving the people a severe beating - it's disgusting.

The irish police always seem to be very violent and aggressive against the reclaim the streets parties which are so damn fluffy.

Violence against anyone is horrible, but its even more sickining when its the Strong picking on the Weak.
