More will ignore Jubilee events than will take part
More people will be shunning this year's Golden Jubilee celebrations than taking part, according to a survey.
The poll was conducted two weeks after the death of the Queen Mother when it was widely thought support for the monarchy had increased.
The number of people who said they would not mark the Queen's Jubilee even rose slightly from a poll in March.
At that time half those in the survey said they were not planning to participate in the celebrations, while 37% were intending to take part and 13% were undecided.
By April 12-14, when the same people were asked again, the number undecided had fallen to 7%, but 55% now said they would definitely not participate.
Both surveys are part of the Lloyds TSB LifeIndex, ongoing research looking at different aspects of people's lives and how they spend their money.
Of those planning to mark the Jubilee, 22% said they take part in a street party, while 39% said they would spend the Jubilee weekend in June with their family.
A spokesman for the research said: "Although there has been a slight increase in the number of people favouring street parties we don't expect the streets to be awash with colour this June as they were for the Silver Jubilee in 1977."
