Great Socialist Dies

One of the greatest parliamentarians of the century Barbara Castle has died aged 91. Mrs Castle was one of a few principled politicians and one of the few socialists left in the parliamentary Labour party.

She was many things, definitely a tireless campaigner for the pensioners. But to say she was a socialist is stretching it too far.

PLEASE no longer confuse Labourism with socialism ever again ! Not even the vociferous, left-wing Labourites such as Barbara Castle ( almost wrote Cartland for a second!). The gravestone of socailism in Britain will be inscribed "Vote Labour"
