I like them because they display a rare gift of thinking deeply about what they beleieve, and STANDING by it. Theyve saved the reputation of the whole of Judaism in my opinion.

I took the time the other day to talk to an orthodox jewish chap, who I sometimes work with, about his attitude to the situation in the middle east. To my surprise, and my embarrassment at my ignorance, he informed me that all orthodox jews believe the state of Israel to be an anathema. Some groups temper their criticism as they regonise the reality that Israel exists but all believe the occupation should end as the Torah teaches that the best course of action to follow is the one that creates the least bloodshed. They believe that vacating arab land would lead to a more peaceful resolution of the current problems.
Now we don't hear that very often in the media do we.
