The TUC/Globalise Resistance March was crap

05.05.2002 18:40

The TUC / Globalise Resistance march was crap. I went there at 12 noon and there were only about 300 people there by the time the march was due to set off at 1pm there were still only about 1000 people there. It was another uneventful boring march where everyone stood around listening to the same old speakers! That is the worst thing about the left, they certainly know how to make politics boring and disenpowering! No wonder they have so little support.

By contrast the anarchist marchs througgh Mayfair were exciting enpowering experiences where people felt they could actualy do something themselves instead of just stand around listening to leaders and be told what to do.

This was only marred at the end by the Sex Workers march which came to a complete halt in Wardour Street which allowed the police to surround it and eventualy break it up. Had it kept moving through the streets of Soho it would have been much better.
