Three held during animal rights demo

Three people have been arrested during a mass protest by animal rights campaigners.

The protest was the latest stage in a campaign to shut down a firm which test pharmaceutical products on animals.

Around 500 people gathered in Diss, Norfolk, to call for the closure of Huntingdon Live Sciences, which has its headquarters in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

Around 200 protesters later gathered at a HLS plant at Occold, Norfolk, a few miles from Diss.

The three were arrested on suspicion of public order offences after attempts were made to tear down a fence at the Occold site.
