The police are saying that to allow a march on May 1st we must have applied for road closures from the Council. This has never been required before and we had not been informed of this change. The police have just controlled traffic lights to stop lights while we pass. This is a traditional event, colourful, political and entirely peaceful and we don't intend to be stopped.
