Terraists For Mayday :-)

terraist | 19.04.2002 18:23

Colourful preparations for mayday are well underway, but there's no substitute for doing things yourself. While some of the actions recommend a dress code, many of us are concentrating on colour and the idea of masking up for planet earth - it's easy fun and a spectacle with a message:

for mayday celebrants.... become terraists, lovers of the earth...terra=earth.

all a fluffy terraist needs is lots of lovely fur fabrics or what ever fancy old frocks you can score down the charity shops n a piece of sparkly fabric for yr mask.

this mask material comes in all colours including rainbow, it looks like sequins but is n't, you can see very well through it but your features are totally unseen if you tie it on like a mask.....check it out. it really looks very strange. we'd look amazing if we all moved together with the samba band..we could invent a dance on the spot.

there's also plain silver n gold fabrics that are thin n have the same quality...you don't need to cut eyeholes. this looks really wierd n surrealistic...n lots of fun if you wear strange hats n ears n things. the mask is one of the most ancient n powerful theatrical devices ever discovered, its deep magic. in this case it has a special edge as the police don't like masks but they cannot forbid this as its our spiritual practice as the theatre of life.

as a terraist we are dancing for our love of the mother... for all life and all that enables life to flourish on this planet. also we are dancing for all the unseen people who are seeking to be recognised and respected... you know who n what i mean.

children can really enjoy this idea too n get masked up in their own way, they are likely to want eye n mouth holes...or maybe a softer cloth like muslin or cheesecloth. it would be great to have children involved with their own notices about mother terra.

if we buy lots of cloth maybe down the market and get a good deal we can cut it into strips n ask for donations on the day and enrol as many terraists as possible.

many of us are already interested in this idea...

please pass on to anyone you think will be interested...

I think the best way to get closer to Mother Earth is to bury yourself! The deeper, the better! Be sure to tell all the other tree-huggers too! It could be like a huge party! If you need any help, i promise to be of service.
