I joined around 2000 here in Catania today in a demo against article 18. The demo was made up of students workers and citizens. As the demo processed along a main street, hundreds of students broke off as it passed through Piazza della Universita and occupied the quadrangle of the university for a short while.

The call for the demo was 'all to Piazza Cavour! Workers, students, unnemployed, homeless, immigrants!

Catania is a city of 250 000, around the size of Bradford If this figure is repeated across the country, there could have well been over 10 million on the streets

its always amazed me how the left in its widest sense has let the media get away with lies, ommissions and half-truths, (or is that politicians!.). faxing, ringing, writing to them does have an effect, no to fatalism ,yes to action, get ringing....
