International Day for Laboratory Animals

A call to action for all those who care

The abuse and exploitation of animals is one of the major supporting pillars of capitalism, a system which treats both human and non-human animals simply as tools to allow the continued generation of ever increasing profits for the limited elite few. Fighting for the rights of animals should not be seen as a separate issue to fighting for the rights of our human brothers and sisters, or fighting to defend our Earth, all these causes are inextricably linked.

The campaign against the huge animal testing facility Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS) has brought the lab to its knees. Never before has a single campaign so effectively crippled a giant multinational, this is history in the making, this just shows that we the people can make a difference. With the lab losing money every day and barely managing to keep its head above the water now is the time when action as never before is required, let us hit them hard, there can be no compromise with those who kill for greed.

Coming up at the end of April is the International Day for Laboratory Animals, actions are planned all over the world, many specifically focusing on closing down HLS. Here in the UK a huge demo is taking place on Sat 27th meeting at The Park, in Diss (Norfolk) @12noon (check www.shac.net for more info, including actions in other countries or  http://www.october29.org/shacusa/index.htm for US info).

Peace protestors, anti-fascists, human rights activists, environmental warriors, class struggle anarchists let us unite, together we can bring an end to the killing. It will be a day to remember.
