Last Monday, one hundred came to demonstrate in Whitehall, opposite Downing Street, official London residence of the British Prime Minister.

Today, on Thursday 4th April, the day that Tony Blair flew to the US for his meeting with George Bush, one and a half thousand people responded to the call by the Association of Palestinian Communities:
"By staying silent and inactive, Blair is supporting Israeli state terrorism, contrary to all his stated support for peace and justice in the world.
We appeal to trade unions, community groups and political organisations to take action in solidarity with the Palestinians, to come out and send [him] the message loud and clear - STOP ISRAEL’S MURDEROUS CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE PALESTINIANS!"

Lots and lots of Palestinian flags - the same flags as had been planted on the makeshift grave in the car-park at Ramallah hospital, where medical staff buried the bodies of those they were forbidden even to return to their families for a proper funeral. And the same chant, too, in London and Ramallah: "Bil roh, bil dam, nafdiki ya Filistine." "With our spirit, with our blood, we sacrifice, oh Palestine!"

How much longer must Palestinians make such demands on themselves? How much longer must they pay so dearly to keep alive the hope of those things that should be granted to all of us, without any payment: peace, freedom, justice, dignity, life?

Demonstrate next Saturday (6th April) outside the Israeli Embassy; National Demonstration the following Saturday (13th April); see Indymedia UK Calendar for details.

Massive media coverage
Massive media coverage

We were actually surrounded by TV cameras - you can see them in this rather messy picture, on top of the white plinths - but they were there doing some kind of run-through for the Queen Mother's funeral.

Don't you just love Britain?

effective demonstrations

To make a demo efffective it needs to be covered by the media. If 50.000 demonstrate and the BBC says there were 3000
in effect there were 3000.
As the BBC has far better things to do, like cover the old Lizard witches funeral, then just to get a mention on the news is about all we can hope for:
But why not start to organize demo's out side the BBC and other media HQ's then you get to see all the types going in and out. Aim the demonstration against them, after all it's them that is towing thee party line. If they came out and told the truth about what iis really going on the worlds problems would at least be out in the open and politicians and their corporate minions would not be able to hide behind the facade erected as a replacement foor reality by the mediia barons. Who are also the chemical/Oil Barons and are responsble foor destroying our planet.

Let's attack the corporate media in everyway possible.
A vigil outside the BBC would show that we the people no longer trust them..... and so he went on ......
