no sweat, the anti-sweatshop group is helping to raise 50,000 dollars for indonesian activists who turned down a "reebok human rights
award" for the same amount. why?
award" for the same amount. why?
cos the human rights work they were doing was organising unions and better working conditions in
clothing factories in indonesia : run, amongst others, by reebok.
we don't want these fighting unions (quite unlike those in the uk: have you ever heard of any union leaders here being sent to jail for
YEARS for standing up for workers rights? (the last time something similar happened in britain incidentally was in the 1970s - and the
response showed perhaps why the government don't try it again, but it hasnÄt happened since cos the leaders are pretty shit
obviously))..right, we don't want these unons, theri members and indonesian workers losing out cos of their principled stand
so get in touch with no sweat and do something for the appeal (hold a party and raise a bit of money, if you're a student try and get
some money from your students union, at work, do a collection around your workmates/get money from your union branch, or just tell
other people about it...)
