Last night Brian Paddick rcieved a standing ovation from a wide cross-section of Lambeth community: Blacks, Whites,Jews, gays, lesbians, politicians, activists and men of the cloth stood together as one to campaign for the immediate reinstatement of Brian Paddick.

Members of Lambeth community gave a standing ovation to outraged commander Paddick, who has been the victim of slander, chequebook journalism and demotion as a result of his effective, progressive policing policies.
Brian paddick was demoted to a desk job by the Met as a result of a slanderous and homophobic campaign against him, led by The Daily Mail.He was a victim of unverifiable allegations of marijuana smoking and effectively ousted from his post just when members of the community had felt that some sort of dialogue was being established.
Last night,South London preachers, muslims, rabbis, queers and activists, including Alex Owolade of the Movement for Justice Against Deaths in Custody and politicians such as The Green party's Shane Colins demanded the immediate reinstatement of Brian Paddick.
His achievements are the Cannabis experiment, with which 83% of Lambeth residents agreed with, as it freed police time in order to tackle the real drug problems. There was also a noted reduction in street crime( 27%).
Since the Eighties and the Brixton riots, paddick urged officers to cut down on stop an search by demanding them to write detailed reports explaining the exact reasons for arrest.
last night, Lambeth Town Hall was shocked at how a man like Paddick could have been removed from his duties as serving Officer when the members of the Met that perpetuated the recent deaths in custody of those black youths are still in their jobs.
We urge all members of Lambeth community to join the Campaign to Reinstate Mr. Paddick:
who polices Lambeth: the Met or The Daily Mail?
