are the wombles in hibernation. Or have they mutated in to a new form.

The last i heard from the womble action people was at the magistrates court. i believe
they were facing charges of maliciously putting there bodies in the way of police batons. the website

There was no sight of them in Belgium and no sight of them in Barcelona.

Sort it out people or drop the image, and let others take over. The tatic is important and needed.

don't get so fixated on a group, an other that's not you.

see it more as a tactic (as you kind of do), appropriate sometimes.

and if it wasn't in use in Belgium or Barcelona, so what?
maybe it wasn't appropriate, maybe you didn't sort it out yourself.

if 'they' weren't there for whatever reasons (it's doesn't matter), then DIY.

I know what you are saying Bod, but at the same time the wombles do seem to be targeted by the police quite a bit and personally i would feel a bit intimidated turning up on my own kitted out as a womble.

by the way the SWP appeared to side with the police at the Labour party demo, actually helping to arrest Wombles. When the left attack their brothers it can have a serious effect on morale, and the SWP have turned out to be traitors, unfortunately, because i have personal friends in the party and i begin to wonder whats in their heads ? ("Did S/HE do that ?", I ask myself ) Other friends of mine, from eastern europe, experienced in such things, confirm that the SWP are more akin to proto-stalinists than trotskists.

As I recall, the original accusation was that stewards hadn't physically stopped the police arresting the Wombles.

Are you really now claiming we actually HELPED arrest them??

No the story has NOT changed. It was that at least one SWP steward pointed out wombles to the cops to get them nicked. Which they were. And it's true.

I'm not saying it was something decided by the Central Committee, it may have been just one proto-bureaucrat, authoritarian quasi-cop tosser (which fits the description of your full-timers pretty well...). Y'know, the ones who did the cops' jobs trying to clear the sitdown protest at the last antiwar demo, or for that matter the spontaneous sitdown Camden kids did the Saturday before the big antiwar demo in November.
