I read a bit of Marx recently and came away with the impression that 'Communism'would not be achieved untill the dissolution of the state, so if your talking Marx then no China certainally is'nt Communist it's Socialist (the step before communism)

even making a superhuman effort to believe the "let the party take power and be the bosses for a while, we will relinquish it all come the day, honest" bollocks, I do believe that that you would need very, very long legs to make a "the step" from the capitalofascism which is to be found in china and communism.

if kissinger goes to china it is probably to try and learn a few tricks on how to terrorise workers (though, of course, it is also true that most of these tricks were used in the west first, around 1923-1945)

China is neither communist or socialist. Mao quoted Marx and Lenin for rhetorical reasons (many dictators have), but the system he led is just state-managed capitalism.

China was Socialist under the leadership of Mao Tse-Tung. Then an armed coup was launched by right wing forces not long after the death of Mao and socialism was reversed and capitalism was established.
