NO SWEAT ACTION
Friday March 8 - International Women's Day:

Join us on a Tour of Shame down London's Oxford Street. Meet 6pm, outside the Gap, opposite Bond Street tube.

No Sweat will celebrate International Women's Day on March 8 with a "Tour of Shame" taking in some of Oxford Street's most notorious exploiters of sweated labour.

The Tour of Shame will take in the likes of Gap, Nike, Disney, and McDonalds and will highlight the treatment of women workers by these MNCs

Women often face the worst abuses of labour rights with forced contraception and pregnancy tests, sexual abuse and harassment commonplace in many factories.

We will also be using the occasion to publicly launch our "east END SWEATSHOPS" campaign with GMB London. This campaign is looking to organise the sweatshops in London's East End, and to help the workers there fight for better pay, conditions, health and safety...

Global Women's Strike Demands

-- Payment for all caring work - in wages, pensions, land & other resources. What is more valuable than raising children & caring for others? Invest in life & welfare, not military budgets or prisons.
-- Pay equity for all, women & men, in the global market.
-- Paid maternity leave, breastfeeding breaks & other benefits - stop penalizing us for being women.
-- Don't pay "Third World Debt". We owe nothing, they owe us.
-- Accessible clean water, healthcare, housing, transport, literacy.
-- Non-polluting energy & technology which shortens the hours we work. We all need cookers, fridges, washing machines, computers, & time off!
-- Protection & asylum from all violence & persecution, including by family members & people in positions of authority.
-- Freedom of movement. Capital travels freely, why not people?
