What a shame for Mcdonalds the Chinese want them to get rid of their ugly 'M' signs on the run up to the 2008 Olmpics pity for them the imperialist trash!

which may be fortean myths, or even true.

when coca cola first moved into the chinese market, they had a little difficulty translating the slogan of the time 'coke adds life'. after a lot of mistakes the corporation came up with 'coke makes your ancestors arise from the grave'.

in 1945, the defeated japanese regime was trying to fathom the complications of christianity as a courtesy to the USA forces. having read all the legends of the calvary, christmas, etc they eventually erected a huge crucifix in toyko, with santa claus impaled on it. sums up christmas somehow.

Three cheers for the government of the People's Republic of China! They may torture people and throw them into gulags for expessing destabilising political and religious ideas, but at least they've made McD's take down their big 'M's. Woo hoo! I'm underwhelmed.
