The first official Surrey Anarchist Group social event will be happening on Saturday 9th March in Guildford. It will start at 3pm in Scruffy Murphys pub and will probably finish in a ditch in the early hours of Sunday morning. It will give you (the masses) a chance to get to know the lovely people that compose the mysterious group that is SAG. The evening will probably involve lots of drinking, swearing, deep political conversations, and singing. Guildford is quite a nice place and has lots of pubs all within walking distance, there are also lots of alleyways to try and lose FIT teams in. The aims of the event are:

a) to get very drunk
b) to wind-up any FIT team(s) that turn(s) up
c) to get to know people we don't already know
d) to introduce the rest of SAG to people we do know
e) to have a laugh

We hope that our revolutionary demands (listed above) will be met, and as this is a piss-up and not a leafleting action we are expecting a near-full SAG turnout. To find Scruffy Murphys from the station you have to walk towards the town centre and then under the subway leading to the Standard Life building and YMCA. Turn right when you leave it, then walk along the side of the Standard Life building until you get to a bridge. Then go down the slope and steps towards the river and turn right under the bridge. When you come out from under the bridge you should then see a large car park. Walk over to the opposite side of the car park where you should see a road in between the Whitehouse pub and a church, follow this road to the end (walking along side the river) and you'll find Scruffys. If you still can't find it we recommend asking for directions.
