INJUSTICE – European Parliament Screening 5th March 2002

INJUSTICE - the feature length documentary about deaths in police custody in the UK– will have a special screening in the European Parliament, Brussels on Tuesday 5th March.

Families involved with the film including Brenda Weinberg (the sister of Brian Douglas) and Myrna Simpson (the mother of Joy Gardner ) will be travelling to Brussels. The film will be screened in Parliament where they, and the film maker, will be joined for a day of Q&A sessions and screenings. The event has been organised and hosted by Jean Lambert MEP. The film will be watched by MEPS and NGOS concerned with human rights abuses.

The focus of the day will be Police and Human Rights in Europe. The objective of the meetings, besides highlighting these issues at a European level, will be to come up with concrete ways in which the European Parliament can begin to address such problems. This screening is part of an international tour of the film which is creating a framework for international action by the families of those who have died in police custody.
