Government to supress academic research

Dave | 18.02.2002 23:55

Ominious and sinister: Apparantly there's going to be a new law...

...that will allow the government to censor or even block publication of academic research.

I don't know the details but one can imagine the kind of research the government might have an interest in supressing.

Eg research on the adverse effects of using GM crops, research on the harmful economic effects of globalisation, research on any link between MMR and autism, research on CJD, etc.

There's going to be an article written about this in The Cambridge Student soon. I'll publish it when it appears.
Look out for this news on this in the papers, it should be in the Observer or somewhere.
